Helping Businesses Do
Things More Thoughtfully

We are a small advisory based in Chiang Mai, working with organisations across Thailand on voluntary, practical changes to how they operate.

Practical Roots in Northern Thailand

Cobalt Wren came together in Chiang Mai in 2019, when two colleagues with backgrounds in operations management and resource planning began noticing the same thing: a lot of businesses wanted to operate more responsibly but didn't know where to begin — or felt the conversation was always aimed at large corporations with dedicated teams.

We started small, working with a handful of hospitality businesses around the Nimman and Old City areas. The work was unglamorous: looking at where packaging came from, where energy was going, what happened to materials at the end of each week. But it was useful, and word spread.

Today, Cobalt Wren works with a range of organisations across Thailand — from boutique guesthouses and independent retailers to small manufacturers and B2B service providers. The approach hasn't changed: practical, voluntary, and always paced to suit the organisation in front of us.

Our Mission

To make thoughtful operational practice accessible to businesses of any size — not as a compliance exercise, but as a genuine improvement to how an organisation works day to day.

Our Values

  • Honesty about what we can and cannot advise on
  • Practical suggestions over theoretical frameworks
  • Paced engagements that respect your team's time
  • Genuine curiosity about your specific situation

Our Scope

We work entirely in voluntary, operational territory. We share general information and process guidance — we do not provide legal, compliance, financial, or medical advice of any kind.

Who You Will Work With

Our team is small by design. Every engagement involves people who are genuinely familiar with your situation.

SK

Siriporn Kasem

Co-founder & Lead Advisor

Siriporn brings fifteen years in operations management across hospitality and retail in northern Thailand. She leads client engagements and writes most of our briefing materials.

NW

Nattawut Wiset

Co-founder & Resource Analyst

Nattawut focuses on the operational review work — mapping material flows, packaging decisions, and energy patterns for small manufacturers and food businesses.

PL

Praewa Lertchai

Client Relations & Documentation

Praewa manages ongoing advisory relationships and prepares the progress notes and summary documents that clients receive after each engagement cycle.

Our Working Standards

These are the commitments we carry into every engagement — small or large, one-day or ongoing.

Honest Scope

We are clear about the boundaries of our work. If a question falls outside general operational guidance, we say so rather than stretching our remit.

Confidential by Default

Information you share during an engagement stays within our team. We do not reference client names or details in marketing materials without explicit written permission.

Written Deliverables

Every service ends with a tangible document — a checklist, a findings summary, or a progress note — so the work does not disappear when the session ends.

Tailored to Context

We adapt what we share to the type and size of your business. A ten-person guesthouse and a small manufacturing facility face different practical realities.

Incremental Progress

We do not push for sweeping change. We look for the adjustments that are feasible now and build a foundation for further improvement over time.

Open Communication

If something we suggest isn't working in practice, we want to know. Our engagements are conversations, not one-way deliveries of information.

What Guides Our Advisory Work

Responsible operations advisory sits in a particular space — neither regulatory compliance nor management consulting, but something more grounded in daily operational reality. The questions we explore with clients tend to be specific: where is energy being used and when, what packaging decisions were made by default rather than by choice, how does waste move through the facility over a typical week.

Our experience working with hospitality businesses in Chiang Mai has shown that many of the most useful changes cost very little to implement. The difficulty is usually knowing where to start, and having a structured way to identify which changes will have the clearest impact given available resources. That is where a briefing or a structured review adds genuine value — not by introducing an elaborate framework, but by offering an outside eye and a clear record of findings.

For businesses further along the journey, ongoing advisory gives operational improvements staying power. Having a regular outside perspective helps embed new practices into how teams work, rather than letting initial changes slowly drift back to old habits. The progress notes we produce serve as a useful internal record — modest in scope, but consistent over time.

Our work is entirely voluntary in nature. We share general information and operational guidance — not legal, financial, or compliance advice. Clients retain full decision-making authority over their operations at all times.
